Mathi curry is very famous in kerala, and it is one of my favourite. Made of sardine fish in spicy chilly gravy goes well with white boiled rice. I love the mathi fry as well. These are at their best, when made at home. Some of the toddy shops also serve excellent mathi curry during lunch hours. It is believed that, when cooked in earthen pots using firewoods it is very special, and thats how they cook it in toddy shops. Below is the picture captured at the home kitchen. This time it is cooked in an earthen pot on a gas stove. The modern kerala homes lack the aduppu to cook using the firewood.
