145 # Visit a Hindu temple...

This is the Sree durga (name of the deity) temple at Varapuzha, a small town near Kochi city, hence it is not a very big temple. I do remember a festival I attended here at least 3 decades back. During the festival day, the whole place was  filled with people, accompanied by the chenda melam (local drums). Two decorated live elephants decorated both sides of this tall structure at in front of the temple. Look at these structures, they are tall enough to accomodate a tall elephant and the mahout on top of it. There was Sambasivan's  'kadha prasangam', story telling as a speach, an art perfected by him.
